Anthrax Kickin’ Ass and Takin’ Names

Anthrax is back, kickin’ ass and takin’ names, with a new album and tour.  Last year marked Anthrax’s 35th anniversary as a band and the release of one of the most-anticipated metal/thrash albums, For All Kings, hitting the streets in February under Megaforce in North America/Nuclear Blast internationally.  The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart and at #9 on Billboard’s Top 200, becoming Anthrax’s highest-charting album in more than two decades.  Written by drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian, combined with Joey Belladonna’s vocals and guitar leads by newest member Jonathan Donais, the album and live shows have received killer reviews.

Over its 35-year career, Anthrax has been a pioneering band with its unique style, sound and heavy brand of thrash metal, and, as Metallica’s Kirk Hammett put it, “one can hear their influence on any number of up and coming bands.”  Anthrax has sold in excess of 10-million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans.  This card-carrying member of The Big Four – with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – as one of the four bands that defined the speed/thrash metal genre, Anthrax is still going strong in 2017.

Kicking off their co-headlining tour with Killswitch Engage that started March 29th, dubbed the Killthrax Tour, confirmed dates so far circle North America starting in Montclair, NJ and end back on the East coast in Boston, May 7th.

Stay tuned to BuzzPony Journal for full show review and shots from the show in Omaha, NE on April 29th.
