Yungblud Brings “Idols World Tour” To The Midwest

Cold and dreary weather rolled into Iowa/Nebraska on August 4th for the Idols World Tour. That didn’t stop the crowds of people from coming out to Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs, IA. Yungblud sold out the venue that evening and everyone packed in like sardines to see the rock ‘n’ roll icon play one of the best shows. It also happened to be the eve before his birthday so this show was a little extra special. I had the absolute privilege of standing next to some of the nicest people and fellow fans in the pit. They made the experience well worth it and traveled several hours to come see him play. That’s dedication.

Return To Dust was the opener and they absolutely smashed it. Reigning from Los Angeles, CA, this alternative rock band got the crowd absolutely pumped up for Yungblud. Playing original songs they wrote and even a cover of OutKasts “Hey Ya”. They had great energy on stage.

War Pigs by Black Sabbath blared on the speakers and the whole crowd started singing, video footage started rolling, the fog machine billowed smoke all over the crowd and the stage, and then there he was. Wearing a black leather vest, pants, and sunglasses. In true rockstar fashion, he began jumping around the stage and singing as loud as he could. The crowd went wild. I had never seen anything like it. The energy of a Leo. He had a girl come up on stage and play the rhythm guitar for Fleabag and he jumped in the crowd during the song and sang it. The energy was absolutely electric.

We all sang Happy Birthday to him and held up signs for his birthday and he came back out on stage and played a couple more songs. He said that he loved Iowa/Nebraska and that he would definitely be bringing Bludfest to the Midwest next year. Bludfest is a festival that he created designed to counter high ticket prices and corporate exclusivity in live music. Bringing music back into the hands of the people.

Yungblud put on an extraordinary show and I hope he does come back to the Midwest again. His energy and music bring people together and that’s what it’s all about.

I would like to thank Yungblud’s team for putting on such an awesome show and for letting me write this article. I would also like to thank Stir Cove. What an incredible venue. I have never had a bad experience at this venue. Wonderful staff and people!
